Child labour

-Child labour  refers to the employment of children in any work that derprives children of their childhood, physically, socially or morally dangerous and harmful this practice is considered exploitive by many international organisations legislation across the world prohibit child labour                       
      - In its most extreme forms, child labour involves children being enslaved, separated from their families, exposed to serious hazards and illnesses and /or age. Whether or not particular forms of "work" can be called "child labour " depends on the child's age, the type and hours of work performed, the conditions under which it is performed and the objectives pursued by individual countries.
      -Children in Africa have worked in farms and at home over a long history. This is not unique to  Africa ; largede number of children have worked in agriculture and domestic situations in America, Europe and every other human society, throughout history, prior to 1950s
-A 2010 report estimates about 150,00 children age 5-14 were working in Morocco. Agriculture and domestic services are the predominant employers.
Young girls, locally called as petites bonnes(little maids),are sent to work as live in domestic servants, many aged 10 or less. These petites bonnes come from very poor families,
-International labor Organisation (ILO) stated that first of all, poverty is the greatest single force driving  children into workplace. Another major factor driving children to harmful labor is the lack of schools and poor quality of schooling.
-Most African governments have formally adopted the three International Labour Organisation(ILO) conventions. In addition,many have signed a memorandum of understanding With ILO to launch a programme under the international programme for the Elimination of child Labour(IPEC).
-the international programme on the Elimination of child Labour(IPEC), founded in 1992, aims to eliminate child Labour. It operates in 88 countries and is the largest program of its kind in the world
-UNICEF also partners with civil society organisations to support a holistic child protection approach to child Labour, contribute to the evidence base on child Labour through research and data collection, and advocate across all stakeholders to child Labour.
